Mr. Ranjit an entrepreneur from Shivamogga, Karnataka had approached Nitte DST TEC for developing a fermentation based liquid organic manure utilizing cow dung and cow urine-based slurry extract. DST TEC technically supported this product development and validation using services of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Shimoga. DST TEC enabled registering a Startup Vasuki Agro Chemicals LLP and facilitated incubation at Nitte Atal Incubation Center. Nitte DST TEC enabled Vasuki Agro Chemicals to develop a product that meets the requirements under Fertiliser Control Act (FCO) so that the product could reach the market. On October 15, this product was officially released by very distinguished guests Dr. S.V. Suresh, Vice Chancellor, University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore, Dr. R.C. Jagadeesha, Vice Chancellor, University of Agricultural and Horticultural Sciences, Shivamogga, Smt Shree Roopa, Commissioner, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services, Government of Karnataka in the presence of Dr. Iddya Karunasagar and Dr. Indrani Karunasagar, DST TEC, Dr. P. Srinivasu, Director and Dr. Shivarudrappa, Additional Director, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services Department, Dr. H.C. Nagaraj, Principal, NMIT, Shri Chethan Sheernali, Member Governing Committee AIC Nitte and Shri Puneeth Rai, Incubation Manager, AIC Nitte. The programme was held at Sir M Visveswaraya Auditorium of Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology and presided over by Shri Rohit Punja, Administrator, Nitte University Campus, Bangalore.
